Chloe Cox was 12 years old when she was diagnosed with glioblastoma. She spent the last 13 months of her life going through surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy — and in the middle of all of it, she kept showing up for other people. She made blankets for sick kids. She delivered them by hand. She chose faith over fear every single day.

When her care moved from Arkansas Children’s Hospital to MD Anderson, she was surrounded by children fighting battles she hadn’t imagined — and instead of turning inward, she turned outward. That instinct to give when you have every reason not to is what this scholarship honors.

Chloe had a future she never got to live. This scholarship exists because of that.

Every year, Chloe’s Journey of Faith Foundation awards the Chloe Memorial Scholarship to students in the Texarkana community who carry that same spirit — young people with faith, heart, and a desire to do something good with their lives. Since 2018, we’ve awarded 27 scholarships totaling $16,000.

It’s one of the most meaningful things we do. And every recipient carries a little piece of Chloe’s story forward with them.

The Chloe Memorial Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in the Texarkana area. We look for students who demonstrate academic effort, community involvement, and a commitment to something bigger than themselves. A personal connection to childhood cancer is not required—but a heart for others always comes through in the application.

Applications are accepted annually. To apply or find out when the next application window opens, email us at cjofministry@gmail.com with “Scholarship Application” in the subject line and we’ll send you everything you need. You can also use the form on this page.

Applications typically include a short personal essay, information about your academic background and community involvement, and a letter of recommendation. We read every application personally and make selections based on the full picture of who you are — not just grades.
